Notifications
Skyelight keeps conversations moving without anyone camping in the dashboard. When something happens on a thread you are part of, you hear about it in your inbox, by email, and optionally in Slack.
What triggers a notification
Four events notify people, and each one notifies only the people it should:
| Event | Who is notified |
|---|---|
| Mention | Anyone you @mention in a comment or reply |
| Reply | The pin’s author and everyone who has replied in the thread |
| Resolution | Everyone involved in a thread when it is resolved |
| Assignment | The person a pin is assigned to |
You are never notified about your own actions, and Skyelight de-duplicates busy threads so a flurry of activity does not become a flurry of pings.
Your inbox
Every notification lands in your in-app inbox, with a badge for the ones you have not read. Opening a notification takes you straight to the thread it is about. Pins assigned to you also collect in Assigned to me in the sidebar. See the Dashboard.
By default you also get an email for mentions, replies, resolutions, and assignments. Manage these from Account settings in the dashboard, where you can turn off any type you do not want.
- Opening a thread from an email jumps you to that exact pin, whether you land in the dashboard, the extension panel, or the chip.
- Workspace invites always send by email so new teammates can accept them.
Email is on by default (except you can disable any individual type). Invitations are the one email that always sends.
Slack
You can also get the same notifications as Slack direct messages. Slack delivery is off by default and opt-in per type.
- Connect your Slack account from Account settings — a one-click OAuth link. There’s no separate admin or workspace install step.
- Enable the Slack notification types you want (mentions, replies, resolved threads, assignments), each its own toggle in Account settings.
Your Slack link works across every workspace you belong to, so you connect once. External collaborators link their own Slack and get their DMs in their own Slack team. Disconnect anytime from Account settings.
