Quickstart

This walks you from a fresh account to your first pin. It takes about five minutes, and you do not need to write any code unless you want to embed the chip on your own site.

Go to the Skyelight dashboard  and sign in. The first time you sign in, Skyelight creates your account and walks you through naming your organization, which sets up your first workspace automatically.

Name your workspace

A workspace is your team’s home. It is created with your organization and you become its owner. Give it a name (usually your company or product name). You can invite teammates now or later from the workspace Settings → Members.

Your organization is the account that will hold billing once paid plans arrive. During free beta there is nothing to pay and no card to add. A workspace is the shared space your team works in. Most companies need exactly one of each. See Workspaces for roles and membership.

Add a project

Inside the workspace, create a project for the site you want feedback on, for example, “Marketing site” or “App staging.” A project groups the surfaces and pins that belong together. See Projects & surfaces for how projects scope what you see.

Connect a surface

Pick how you want to leave pins:

  • On a site you do not own (a competitor, a live page, a client’s app): install the Chrome extension, sign in, and pin anywhere as you browse.
  • On your own product: embed the chip widget with a short snippet so your team (or your customers) can pin without an extension.

Leave your first pin

Open the page, start pinning (press C, or click the Skyelight control), and click the element you want to talk about. Type your comment and submit. Skyelight anchors the pin to that element, starts a thread, and tags it as Feedback, an Idea, or a Bug based on what you wrote.

That pin now appears in the dashboard for the whole project, in real time.

What’s next

  • Tour the Dashboard to see how pins are organized, triaged, and synthesized into decisions.
  • Learn how pins stay attached and get auto-classified in Pins & threads.
  • Set up roles and invite your team in Workspaces.

In-app search results only appear in production builds. Search is indexed at build time with Pagefind, so next dev shows an empty result list locally.
