This Cookie Policy explains how Skyelight, a product of PLASTR LTD doing business as Skyelight, uses cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage) across the Skyelight website, web app, browser extension, and review badge (together, the “Service”). Read it alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. “Similar technologies” include browser local storage and session storage, and the storage a browser extension keeps, which let a site or app save small amounts of data in your browser. We use “cookies” in this Policy to mean all of these.
2. How we use them
We use three kinds:
- Strictly necessary cookies and storage keep you signed in, keep a reviewer or guest signed in to the review badge on a site, protect connections to tools like Slack and Linear, and remember choices you make in the interface. The Service cannot work without them, so they do not need consent.
- Analytics cookies from PostHog, used on this website, the docs and the Skyelight web app, and only after you choose “Allow” on the analytics prompt.
- Advertising measurement cookies from OpenAI’s ads pixel, used on this website and the docs, and when you create a Skyelight account, and only after you choose “Allow”. They tell us whether a visit or a new account came from one of our ads in ChatGPT. We don’t use them to show you ads elsewhere. Until you allow them, and if you choose “No thanks”, the pixel is not loaded.
Until you choose “Allow” on this website and the docs, and if you choose “No thanks”, we count visits without cookies. PostHog records the page, the site that sent you and any campaign tags in the link, and its servers tell visits apart with a one-way hash of your IP address and browser details mixed with a value that changes every day. Nothing that identifies you is stored in your browser, and the same visitor can’t be recognized from one day to the next. The only thing kept on your device is a flag that tells PostHog not to use cookies (see the table below). If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we don’t count your visit at all unless you choose “Allow”.
Nothing from PostHog or OpenAI’s pixel runs on your customers’ pages: not in the review badge, the extension’s page scripts, or the embedded thread drawer.

Some of these are set by our service providers for us. Clerk sets the sign-in cookies, PostHog sets the analytics cookies, and OpenAI sets the ad measurement cookies. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of providers we work with.
4. Managing cookies
You can change your choice at any time. On this website and the docs, use “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page; in the web app, go to Account settings, then Profile. Choosing “No thanks” switches the page back to counting without cookies straight away and clears PostHog’s cookie.
You can also delete cookies and clear local storage through your browser settings, and most browsers let you block cookies. If you block the strictly necessary ones, you will not be able to sign in or use core parts of the Service. Adding ?skyelight=0 to the address of a site with the review badge signs that browser out of the badge there.
We ask for your consent before using analytics cookies. On this website and the docs we also honor Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track: with either turned on, we don’t count your visit unless you choose “Allow”. If we introduce any other non-essential cookies, we will update this Policy and ask for your consent first where required.
5. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above.
