Getting started
This guide takes you from a new account to your first thread on a live page, then to inviting your team. It takes about five minutes and doesn’t require any code changes.
You need Google Chrome to install the extension. Your new workspace shows the same steps as a checklist, so you can stop and continue later.
Create your account
Sign up at app.skyelight.ai . Skyelight asks for one name and uses it for two things:
- Your organization, which holds your plan and billing.
- Your first workspace, which holds your projects and members.
You’re the owner of both. New organizations start on the Free plan, and Skyelight doesn’t ask for a card until you upgrade. See Plans and billing.
Add a project
A project holds the threads for one body of work, such as a marketing site, a feature in development or a client’s app. Every thread belongs to a project, so name it after what people will review.
You can link a GitHub repository, a Linear project and your preview addresses now or later. Projects explains each setting.
Pin your first element
- Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store .
- Click the Skyelight icon in the toolbar to open the side panel, and sign in with the same account.
- Open any page, press
C, click an element and write your comment.

It appears in the side panel and in the web app. A few seconds later, Skyelight sets its type and adds a one-line summary. See Chrome extension.
Click the thread’s marker on the page to open it in the side panel, where you and your team can reply.

Invite people by email and choose a role for each:
- Collaborators are your team. On a paid plan, each collaborator takes a seat.
- Reviewers are clients and stakeholders. They can pin, reply and resolve threads, and they’re free on every plan.
Managing users covers invites, roles and seats.
Next steps
- To collect feedback on preview builds without the extension, add Skyelight Build. It puts the review badge on your previews.
- To let a coding agent read and fix threads, connect it over MCP.
- To capture screenshots with each thread, ask a workspace admin to turn them on. They’re off by default. See Anchoring and context.
Slack, Linear, GitHub and coding agents require the Pro plan or higher. The steps on this page work on the Free plan.
