Statuses
Every thread has one of three statuses. The status shows everyone in the workspace where the thread stands.
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Open | The thread still needs attention |
| Deferred | Set aside on purpose, to revisit later |
| Resolved | The work is done |
Use deferred when the feedback is valid but you won’t act on it now. A deferred thread keeps its replies and history, and anyone can reopen it.
Who can change a status
Anyone in the workspace can change the status of any thread, at any role, including reviewers. A client who reported a problem can resolve the thread once it’s fixed.
Status belongs to the thread. Replies don’t have their own status.
What happens when you resolve a thread
Resolving a thread notifies its author, everyone who replied, and everyone mentioned in it. See Notifications.
A resolved thread can’t be assigned. Reopen it first.
Coding agents can change a thread’s status over MCP. The change is recorded as the person the agent acts for. An agent usually posts a reply saying what changed, then sets the status.
