Configure a project
A new project needs only a name. You can add everything else on the
new-project page or later in Project settings. Most settings control where a
project’s feedback goes and where reviewers can leave it.
Who can change what
| Setting | What it does | Who can change it |
|---|---|---|
| Name and icon | Identifies the project in the sidebar and on the project page | Owners, admins |
| Repository | Adds source links to threads and tells agents where the code is | Owners, admins |
| Linear project | Files issues sent to Linear in that Linear project | Owners, admins |
| Slack channel | Posts feedback sessions, a weekly digest and shared threads | Owners, admins |
| Review Links | Lists the preview addresses where reviewers can pin with the badge | Owners, admins |
| Review Access | Holds the Vercel bypass key for protected previews | Owners, admins |
| Delete | Deletes the project and everything in it | Owners, admins |
Collaborators and reviewers can work in the project, but they can’t change these settings.
Name and icon
The name can be up to 64 characters. The icon appears beside the project in the sidebar. Owners and admins change it from Change in Project Details, or by clicking the icon at the top of the project page. Both open the same icon picker.
Link the repository
The Repository card appears once GitHub is connected to the workspace. Pick the repository from the list. The picker is the only way to set a repository, so a workspace without GitHub can’t link one.
With a repository linked:
- A thread left on a site built with Skyelight Build links to the file and line, at the commit the page was built from.
- Coding agents that read the thread over MCP get the repository address.
GitHub setup is on Integrations.
Choose a Linear project
When someone sends a thread to Linear, Skyelight creates the issue in the Linear project you pick here. If you don’t pick one, issues go to the connected Linear team’s inbox. This card appears only after the workspace has connected Linear and chosen a team.
Route feedback to a Slack channel
Pick one channel for the project. The channel can receive a post when someone starts several threads in a row, a weekly digest, and any thread a teammate shares to it. You can turn the session posts and the digest on or off. Details are on Integrations.
Preview URLs and deployment bypass
To collect feedback on preview builds, add each preview address under Project settings Review Links. The review badge can sign reviewers in only on addresses in that list. If your previews use Vercel Deployment Protection, also add a bypass key under Review Access so reviewers aren’t stopped at Vercel’s login.
- Preview URLs covers the address list and how reviewers sign in.
- Deployment bypass covers Vercel Deployment Protection.
Skyelight Build Plugin
This card shows the command that installs Skyelight Build in your app. It works with Next.js, Vite, Astro and WXT. After a reviewer signs in on a build that uses the plugin, that build’s address in Review Links shows what the build reported. See Preview URLs.
Delete a project
Deleting a project takes effect immediately and can’t be undone. Every thread, reply, screenshot and page context in it is deleted, along with its preview addresses, its bypass key, its Slack channel setting and its links to Linear issues. Skyelight asks you to type the project name to confirm.
