Threads and replies
A thread is one piece of feedback pinned to an element on a page, together with its replies. The first comment starts the thread, and every later comment is a reply. Only the thread gets a marker on the page.
What a thread records
A thread records:
- who wrote it and when, and every reply since, with @-mentions and emoji reactions;
- the page it was left on, the element, and where on the element the person clicked;
- the structure and text of the page around that element, unless your workspace turned page context off;
- a screenshot, if your workspace turned screenshots on;
- the source file, line and commit behind the element, when the site uses Skyelight Build;
- its type, a one-line summary, its status, and who it’s assigned to.
Where threads show up
Each thread appears in several places, and changes show everywhere as they happen:
- On the page, through the Chrome extension or the review badge, next to its element.
- In the web app, in the project’s thread list, in My inbox when it’s assigned to you, and on its own thread page.
- In Slack or Linear, when someone shares the thread to a Slack channel or sends it to Linear. Replies then sync both ways. See Integrations.
- In your coding agent, over MCP, with the screenshot and source location.
