Roles and permissions
These tables list what each role can do. They match the checks Skyelight runs on its servers.

Rules the table doesn’t show:
- Nobody can give someone a role above their own. Changing a role can’t make someone the owner. Ownership moves only by transfer.
- Nobody can remove the owner.
- Status applies to threads, not to individual replies.
- Coding agents and API tokens also require the Pro plan or higher. See Skyelight MCP.
- On Free and Pro, nobody can leave the workspace on its own, because it is the organization. Leave the organization from Account Details instead.
Reviewers can resolve any thread, including threads other people started. If a thread is resolved too early, anyone in the workspace can reopen it.
In the organization
The organization has two roles, Member and Admin. The owner is the one person who owns the organization’s billing.
| Capability | Member | Admin | Owner |
|---|---|---|---|
| See People, Billing and Account Details | No | Yes | Yes |
| Invite people from People (Free and Pro) | No | Yes | Yes |
| Create another workspace (Team and above) | No | Yes | Yes |
| Become an admin in every workspace automatically | No | Yes | Yes |
| Change the plan or payment details | No | No | Yes |
| Transfer the organization | No | No | Yes |
| Delete the organization | No | No | Yes |
| Leave the organization | Yes | Yes | Transfer ownership first |
The owner always holds the organization’s Admin role, so the owner also has every Admin capability.
Organization admins can open the Billing page and see the plan and seat counts, but only the owner can change anything there. When an admin invites someone who would take a new seat, the admin sees the list price. The owner sees the exact prorated charge.
