Configure a workspace
Workspace settings apply to everyone in the workspace. Owners and admins change them in Configure, in the workspace’s left rail. On Team and Enterprise, other members also see Configure, but it shows only Leave Workspace.
Name and logo
Set the workspace name and logo under Configure Workspace Details. The name can be up to 64 characters. The logo is a square PNG, JPG or WebP image of up to 2 MB.
The logo appears in the workspace header, on the workspace list in the dashboard, in the extension’s workspace switcher and in the review badge’s drawer.
Thread types
Every thread has a type. New workspaces start with three types: Feedback, Idea and Bug. The list is under Configure Thread Classifications.
- Anyone in the workspace, including reviewers, can add a type while writing a pin.
- Owners and admins can rename, reorder and delete types, or click Reset to defaults.
- Changing the list doesn’t reclassify existing threads. Threads keep the type they have, and new threads are classified against the new list.
For example, an agency might add types for copy and accessibility, and a product team might add one for regressions. Classification explains how a thread’s type is chosen.
What a pin captures
When someone starts a thread, Skyelight can record what the page looked like. These switches are under Configure Pins & Comments.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Page context | On | Saves the structure, text and styles around the pinned element. Form values are removed in the browser before anything is sent. |
| Screenshot | Off | Saves an image of the area around the element, with form fields painted out. |
| Highlight to pin | On | Lets people drag across text on a page to start a pin on that text. |
The settings apply to the extension and the review badge. The server enforces them, so a client can’t capture a screenshot when the setting is off. Read Anchoring and context before you turn screenshots on.
Integrations
Owners and admins connect Slack, Linear and GitHub once for the workspace under Configure Integrations. Each project then picks its own Slack channel, Linear project or repository. See Integrations.
Plan limits
| Free | Pro | Team | Enterprise | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Workspaces per organization | 1 | 1 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Projects per organization | 3 | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Slack, Linear, GitHub | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Automatic classifications a month | 20 | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Screenshot and page context kept for | 30 days | 12 months (default) | 12 months (default) | 12 months (default) |
On any plan, owners and organization admins can turn automatic classification off for the whole organization, under Settings Automation. While it is off, Skyelight sends no thread text to the services that suggest types and write summaries.
Deleting a workspace removes it for every member immediately. An owner or admin can restore it for 30 days. After that, Skyelight permanently deletes it with every project and thread in it. On Free and Pro, where the workspace is the organization, delete the organization from Account Details instead.
